Hiring range: $42,619.20 - $50,065.60 ($20.49 to $24.07 per hour).

Position Description

Are you detail oriented? Do you provide great customer service both internally and externally? The Associate Administrative Assistant performs a variety of tasks for the information desk, mail room, and receiving dock. This is a front-facing position that handles citizens with a variety of needs. The Associate Administrative Assistant position will pivot and adapt quickly to flow in the mailroom and receiving area where daily requirements need to be met while problem solving and being dependable.

In this position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Facilities Management and Construction department and its team members by providing administrative support and ensuring efficient office operations across all of Anoka County. As an Administrative Assistant, you will have the opportunity to facilitate the operations of the division by supporting staff with various administrative tasks. This full-time, non-exempt, benefit-eligible position is located at the Government Center. Interviews will take place the week of January 13, 2025, for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Pay & Benefits

* Starting Salary: $42,619.20 to $50,065.60 ($20.49 to $24.07 per hour).

* 2025 Anoka County Salary Schedule Grade 26: $42,619.20 to $57,512.00 ($20.49 to $27.65 per hour).

Work Location

* This position will work at the Anoka County Government Center, located at 2100 3rd Avenue, Anoka, MN 55303.

* Expected work hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

These examples are not all inclusive and are intended to be illustrative of primary responsibilities of an Anoka County Associate Administrative Assistant.

* Be the first point of contact at the Government Center's front desk, this is both in person and phone.

* Provide customer service to citizens who are not English-language speaking.

* Utilize multiple computer programs such as Microsoft 365, Cisco, and mailing equipment.

* Scan, copy, fax, email, and file all documents/forms necessary for the department.

* Sort, collect, and distribute mail across the Anoka County Government Center.

* Assist other units and departments with administrative duties and act as back up coverage when requested.

* Handle all incoming deliveries and work with drivers and couriers in the receiving dock.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

* Requires a high school diploma.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed

* Two years or more of full-time (2,080 annual hours) job-related experience in office support or customer service working in a call center or in a reception environment.

* Effectively, positively, and professionally communicates and interacst with the public who have diverse life experiences.

* Computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

* Maintains confidentiality and comply with federal, state, and county rules and regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions

* Standard office environment.

* Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus, such as to work on computers.

* Hearing abilities required for general and phone communication, signals, and machine sounds.

* Alternating between sitting, standing, and walking daily to serve internal and external clients. Occasional crouching and kneeling as required to perform job responsibilities.

* Frequent wrist and finger manipulation to complete work that involves computer, mail, and receiving dock.

* Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

* Equipment used includes computers, phones, and standard office equipment.
