Coordinator of Youth MinistryPart Time St. Peter's Catholic ChurchGeneral Position Summary: Coordinator Youth Ministry, working under the direction and authority of the DRE, is responsible for planning and executing meetings, functions and events for the middle school and high school children of St. Peter's Catholic Church. In addition, the Coordinator of Youth Ministry is responsible for communicating diocesan policies, events, etc. to the youth of St. Peter's Catholic Church, as well as their parents. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry creates an environment by which youth can explore their faith.Principal Accountabilities: Planning and preparing middle school and high school functions weekly. Reviews and complies with diocesan guidelines and policies as set forth by diocesan bishop, pastor, and the Department of Evangelization and Catechesis.Travel Requirements: Rarely (1-3 times a year)Education and Experience Preferred: Required high school diplomaPreferred (bachelor's degree in sacred theology or Catechetics) with 1-3 years of experienceKnowledge and Skills Preferred:Knowledge of the Catholic Church, the celebration of the Sacraments, moral life of the Church, devotionals, etc.Knowledge of office practices, record keeping and file maintenanceSkill in strategic planning and organizationSkills in public speakingSkill in writing and editing various documentsWorking Conditions and/or Physical Requirements: This position works in a typical office environment, on stage in front of youth and other locations off site but is subject to stress due to the evolving and quickly expanding youth and family needs, deadlines, and moderate workload.FLSA Designation: Non-Exempt
