Associate Attorney - Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution - Austin

Our client, who is based in Austin is currently seeking a skilled Associate to join their Business Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in general litigation at the Associate level, with experience in General Commercial Litigation, such as in white-collar defense, trade secrets, financial services, mass torts, construction, or energy/oil & gas sectors.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree in LAW is a must have.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas, is needed
  • High-Quality Writing Samples will be required with your application
  • Experience managing cases from intake and claim assessment through trial or appeal

Key Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to swiftly learn and master new legal subjects
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state court practices, with experience in preparing answers, motions, and routine filings
  • Proficiency in handling hearings and depositions
  • Extensive experience in managing cases from start to finish

Core Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be expected to provide reliable and high-quality legal services to both clients and supervising attorneys. Your primary duties will include:

  • Conducting in-depth factual and legal research for pleadings, memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Drafting pleadings and related case documents
  • Attending hearings and overseeing litigation matters through their final resolution
  • Communicating professionally and effectively with clients and supervising attorneys

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage matters efficiently
  • Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Effective team player, capable of working professionally with clients, partners, associates, and support staff
  • Familiarity with preparing both basic and complex litigation documents
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state court procedural rules and practices

While candidates from AMLA firms are welcome, we are primarily focused on strong writing skills, relevant commercial litigation experience, and full licensure in Texas. Writing samples will play a significant role in the selection process.
