Manning Kass has an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and ambitious Litigation/Coverage Attorney to join our New York Team.

As a Manning Kass Litigation Attorney, you'll make a difference for business owners and individuals by providing exceptional legal representation in their time of need. You'll be responsible for analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies, communicating proactively with clients, and representing them in litigation proceedings such as hearings, motions, depositions, and mediations, all in a supportive environment.

Associates will handle all phases of defense and/or coverage litigation, including discovery, motions, client assistance, depositions, and trial. Candidates must be a team player with excellent litigation, writing and persuasive speaking skills. Trial experience is preferred but not required. However, the candidate must have a strong desire to become a trial attorney.

Responsibilities

• Case handling, including analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies through all stages of litigation.
• Client contact, including proactively managing communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.
• Represent clients at litigation proceedings, including hearings, motions, depositions, and mediations.
• Opportunity to try cases, including learning from the firm's ABOTA trial attorneys.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school
• Must be licensed in New York. Licensure in New Jersey or surrounding Tri-State area is a plus.
• Must be willing to work in the office a minimum of 2 days a week.
• The ideal candidate should have 3-8 years of civil/general litigation experience
• 3+ years experience with personal injury and insurance defense
• Trial experience is preferred but not required. However, the candidate must have a strong desire to become a trial attorney.
• Demonstrable experience investigating and case handling with respect to research, discovery, depositions, and mediations
• Excellent writing and communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to case analysis is a must.
