Job Description:

Robert Half is working with a distinguished Law Firm located in California, specializing in representing various public agencies such as cities, public school districts, and community college districts in numerous litigation issues. With a strong and experienced group of trial attorneys.

We are actively seeking an Associate Attorney who is driven, energetic, and passionate about litigation. The successful candidate will actively participate in every phase of litigation, from inception to completion, working alongside our talented team of attorneys.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute all phases of litigation including preparation, investigation, initiating lawsuits, managing litigation cases and achieving settlements.
  • Support senior attorneys in trial preparation and in court. This may include interviewing witnesses, making court appearances, arguing motions, and participating in trials.
  • Offer proactive legal support and advice across a wide range of litigation issues that concern public agencies.
  • Review and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct comprehensive factual and legal research to support our client's cases.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring open communication.
  • Stay abreast of current legislation and case law that may affect our clients.
  • Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Current member of the California State Bar in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably with public agency litigation.
  • Strong skills in legal research and writing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated public speaking and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to efficiently manage deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
  • Passionate about achieving the best outcomes for clients.
