DescriptionThe Associate Coding Specialist is an entry-level coding position. Medical coding is the transformation of healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes. The Associate is responsible for assigning the correct code to describe the type of service a patient will receive. They ensure the codes are applied correctly during the medical billing process and conduct coding reviews in random samplings of medical charts to ensure appropriate coding was assigned.
