Associate Corporate Counsel Renton, Washington ReqID: 317491Job Category: LegalSchedule: Full timeWork Location: Providence Valley Office Park-RentonShift: DayDescriptionGeneral Summary:We are seeking an Associate Counsel to be responsible, under the guidance of a Senior Corporate Counsel and Corporate Counsel, for providing general legal services and assigned specific projects for the Providence St. Joseph Health ( PSJH ) system. This role requires living in one of the following states: WA, OR, CA, AK, TX, NM or MT (relocation assistance will be provided if needed).The Associate Counsel provides legal advice, consultation, and policy analysis and interpretations of numerous areas of law and policy and conducts research and analysis to provide policy recommendations. Responsibilities also include preparing written opinions and guidance for the executive management teams and other internal clients and drafts and reviewing contracts for the organization, with emphasis on physician and vendor agreements.Essential Functions:Provides valued, strategic, and practical legal services and solutions to PSJH with exceptional responsiveness and stewardship.Coordinates with DLA colleagues to provide timely and effective legal services and solutions.Serves as a “point of contact” for PSJH hospital administrative teams to remain knowledgeable about their legal needs and challenges.Provides research and drafts legal opinions for the determination and resolution of complex legal issues.Participates in the supervision and preparation of defense in non-malpractice litigation matters.Utilizes DLA's process to track outside counsel expenditures and report progress to senior department attorneys.Keeps informed of opinions, orders, decisions and developments relating to PSJH legal requirements.Provides guidance and interacts with various PSJH's corporate and community Boards.Prepares, drafts and reviews legal documents, including governing documents and agreements in compliance with applicable statutes.Provides legal guidance to Providence's Integrity, Audit and Compliance Services Department.Required Qualifications:J.D. - Degree from an accredited law school, or the equivalent.Admission to one of the following footprint State Bars: WA, OR, CA, AK, TX, NM, MT within 12 months of hire.Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare-related field.Why Join Providence?Our best-in-class benefits are uniquely designed to support you and your family in staying well, growing professionally, and achieving financial security.About ProvidenceAt Providence, our strength lies in Our Promise of “Know me, care for me, ease my way.” Working at our family of organizations means that regardless of your role, we'll walk alongside you in your career, supporting you so you can support others.Pay Range: $74.79 - $121.91The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
