Job Description:
Primary Location: 2200 W. University Drive, McKinney, Texas, 75071 We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Job Summary: Manage or assist in the management of Student and Enrollment service areas as assigned. Supervise assigned Student and Enrollment services staff. Collaborate with other Student and Enrollment Services Associate Deans to recommend and create new initiatives for students throughout the District. Develop and manage the operational budget. Remain current with legal issues affecting students in higher education. Required Qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage or assist in the management of select Student and Enrollment Services programs at assigned campus or campuses. Services will include, but are not limited to, student facing admissions and registration, advising, testing and the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), student life and student engagement, student outreach, and career services.
  • Work with Deans and other Associate Deans of Student and Enrollment services to ensure consistency for all student services throughout the District.
  • Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of student facing student and enrollment service staff in assigned areas. Supervision may include staffing, mentoring, assisting staff in resolution of complaints and concerns of students, assisting in the resolution of conflicts and managing performance of assigned staff.
  • Provide and recommend professional development training and cross training for all student facing
  • personnel. Assist with the development and management of the annual budget and approval of expenditures as assigned.
  • Remain current with legal issues affecting students in higher education, which include Title IX, VAWA, Campus SaVE Act, Clery Act, CASA; FERPA; and all laws related to student discipline. Monitor procedures and processes to ensure compliance with SACSCOC.
  • Coordinate with Associate Deans of Student and Enrollment Services, to ensure that all students have the opportunity to fully engage in activities across all campuses.
  • Resolve student services complaints and concerns from students, community, and college personnel to ensure student success. Serve as the first point of contact for students in issues requiring escalation for resolution.
  • Provide leadership for planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating Student and Enrollment services for an assigned campus or campuses; assist in the development of manuals, guides, and other materials necessary for efficient and effective administration.
  • Assist with continuous quality improvement in Student and Enrollment services and programming by analyzing qualitative and quantitative data. Lead discussions with staff to develop strategies for
  • improvement.
  • May provide or assist with direct service delivery in any one of the assigned areas of responsibility as needed. Serve as an advocate for students. May refer students to other offices and community resources. Serve as a liaison with financial aid, business office, bookstore, and other offices to ensure students receive effective services. Communicate effectively with the Dean of Student and Enrollment Services regarding issues of concern. Maintain confidentiality.
Supplemental Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned specific to the Associate Dean of Student and Enrollment Services. Areas of responsibility may include but are not limited to career services, scholarly and civic engagement, outreach, new student programs, intramurals and fitness.
  • Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.

  • Knowledge of state and national organizations providing professional development for specific programs (ex: academic advising = NACADA, student discipline = Texas DOS)

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. Requirements Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education. Doctoral degree preferred. Five (5) years of full-time college teaching or directly related higher education experience required. One (1) year of supervisory experience required.
