The program is scheduled to start in Summer 2025, but please apply now for early consideration.Our innovative General Insurance Apprentice Program allows participants to simultaneously gain the education and the experience to launch a rewarding career as a Crop Claims Adjuster with Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS). Zurich's initiative is to develop a new generation of workers to help the U.S. succeed in the 21st century economy. This two-year program combines targeted online coursework at Northeast Iowa Community College and completion of the Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program (CAPP) with relevant work rotations. Seeking candidate located within the following counties of
New York in Oswego, Cayuga, Onondaga, Wayne, Seneca, Schuyler, Yates, Ontario, or Monroe.In one of the regions listed above the Apprentice would support our
Crop Claims Team in:
- Maintaining relationships with farmers to review policies, procedures, and claim adjustments
- Adapting to changing priorities and scheduling conflicts
- Serving customers in the agricultural community
Apprentices who successfully complete this two-year program will:
- Work in a full-time Crop Claims Adjuster position at RCIS
- Earn a tuition-free Associate in Applied Science degree in Agriculture Business
- Receive a Department of Labor Certificate of Apprenticeship
- Earn CAPP certification and licensing
- Possess credentials and skills for today's ever-changing marketplace
Basic Qualifications: - High School Diploma or equivalent
- Professional work experience not required

- Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory
RCIS Crop Adjuster Physical Requirements:
- Walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles
- Climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet
- Lift 25 lbs to 50 lbs
- Work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications: - Valid U.S. Driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Interested in a career serving the agricultural community
- 1 or more years of work experience and/or leadership role in student activities and/or significant voluntary community service
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and work deadlines
- Strong customer service skills
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with impact
- High degree of self-discipline and focus
- Attention to detail
- Ability to collaborate and work successfully in a team environment
- Intermediate computer skills, especially Excel
- Ability to navigate learning and interactions in an online environment
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
