Position DetailsPosition Information Position Title Adjunct - Precision Machining Technology PIN 000053 Classification Summary Adjunct Faculty are employed for the duration of the teaching assignment as specified in the contract, and employment beyond the termination date specified in the contract is neither expressed nor implied. Adjunct teaching assignments will not exceed 18 semester hours in an academic year (August through May). The President will make exceptions as necessary.Minimum Education and/or Training and Experience Master's degree in the subject matter field for assignments in transfer programs or hold a valid vocational certificate for assignments in vocational-technical programs.Preferred Education and/or Training and Experience Associate's Degree in Manufacturing field or directly related experience and training required.Must hold current certifications related to each course of instruction or must be willing to obtain certification within six months of employment, or skills test required.Teaching experience and studies beyond the Associate's preferred.Courses include Machining Procedures, CNC Programming, Quality Assurance, 3D Contouring, Industrial Blueprint Reading, Advanced Measuring Techniques, and Metallurgy.Licensing Requirements NoneEssential Job Function These are the job duties that are required of the position.Classification Duties 1. be responsible to the Associate Dean or program director and the appropriate academic dean;2. carry out the policies developed by the Board of Trustees as interpreted and executed by the administration;3. teach classes assigned by the appropriate dean and Associate Dean or program director with the load not to exceed 18 hours (August through May);4. prepare and file with the Associate Dean or program director course syllabi for new and revised courses and follow, within reason, such guides for courses already established;5. prepare and file with the Associate Dean or program director a list showing the author, title, publisher, date of publication and list price, if known, of all textbooks, required readings, workbooks, or manuals which students must purchase for their courses;6. prepare and file with the dean or program director a bibliography of library books required for use in each course;7. prepare requests for instructional materials, such as books, maps, audiovisual aids, and supplies, and submit them to the Associate Dean or appropriate dean when requested for the purpose of budget planning;8. keep accurate records of class attendance and grades of students and submit them to the Registrar;9. promote student participation in extracurricular activities;10. be responsible for meeting and maintaining all teacher certification requirements as may be applicable and required by the state;11. continue professional improvement through reading and study and by participation in the activities of professional organizations;12. assist in keeping the public well informed of the progress and development of the College;13. utilize available test scores and records as needed to become familiar with the problems and capabilities of students;14. cooperate with the administration in conducting research;15. assume responsibility for enforcing College rules and regulations as related to student conduct;16. perform other duties as may be assigned by the Associate Dean or the program director and the appropriate dean.Position Duties 1. Prepare and distribute to students a class syllabus which should communicate what is expected to happen during the semester, delineate the responsibilities of students and of the instructor, and describe appropriate procedures and course policies.3. Record class attendance and grades of students and submit them to the Registrar when required.4.
