ASSOCIATE DESIGNER ACTIVEWEAR & SPORTS BRASLocation: New York, New YorkCountry: United StatesRegion: NY MetroPosition type: PermanentCategory: ApparelJob Function: Design - Fashion / ProductLevel: Mid to Senior LevelJob OverviewOur client, a global lifestyle brand, is looking for a Freelance Associate Designer for activewear, lounge, sports bras, leggings, and sport layers to join their team in NYC. This will be a freelance hybrid position with flex days in the office.Responsibilities:Research global market to identify new trends, fabric, trim, fit, and hardware pieces and other raw materials.Shop market for trend and inspiration and interpret for the target market.Work closely with the buying and technical design team throughout the development process to ensure the highest level of quality and integrity.Design and create sketches and specs for Product Development team, including front and back sketch, construction details, illustration, material, trims, hardware spec.Prepare spec sheets with detailed technical information.Maintain design records and ensure line sheets are up to date.Participate in fitting sessions and provide fit comments to ensure proper fit and brand integrity.Participate in the conceptual development of product lines to create and deliver effective, cohesive product presentations.Provide recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, and new concepts.Update BOMs in PLM.Produce design sketches and make seasonal presentations of product designs.Create style board for area of responsibility, showing silhouette and color, fabric, print, or pattern options.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design.3-5 years of design experience.Must have prior experience in activewear and/or sports bras.Solid design and conceptual skills.Ability to set a creative tone and inspire new ideas/concepts.Technical knowledge of fabric construction finishes and techniques.Strong knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color, sewing techniques, graphics, and trim.Timely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric, and silhouette.Strong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, PLM, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.#J-18808-Ljbffr
