Bernette Textile Company LLC is seeking a talented and versatile Associate Designer to support both our Womenswear and Menswear design teams. This dual-focused role offers a unique opportunity to work across gender categories while developing core design skills under the mentorship of experienced designers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Designers in the development of seasonal collections for both womenswear and menswear
- Create detailed technical sketches and specification packages using Adobe Creative Suite
- Research fashion trends, fabric innovations, and competitor products
- Prepare and maintain design presentation materials
- Support the design team in seasonal color, fabric, and trim selection
- Assist in fitting sessions and provide detailed notes
- Create and update tech packs and line lists
- Regular interaction with cross-functional teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
- 2-3 years of experience in apparel design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Excel
- Strong technical sketching abilities
- Understanding of garment construction and production processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills to work effectively across teams
