We're looking for an Associate Designer to work on our men's business for a leading activewear brand! This person will work closely with our Designer and Director of Design. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong attention to details and has strong passion for activewear.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Designer in its day-to-day creative projects while maintaining its organization
- Perform market, trend, and shopping research to integrate new styling ideas with a point of view.
- Manage an assortment of styles within your category, working closely with the team members through development and production
- Create detailed sketches in Illustrator that are clear and comprehensible for buyers and overseas factories
- Build/Generate detailed tech packs for sampling, costing, and production purposes on PLM
- Manage cads and linesheets with all updates for color, graphic, and fabric details
- Attend fittings and help evaluate fit samples for design details
- Communicate Effectively with cross-functional teams such as Graphic Design, Product Development, Technical Design, Sales and Production throughout design processes
- Maintain keen attention to detail throughout the product development and production processes using problem solving skills
- Communicate with overseas sample room for meeting line sampling
- Ensure workflow meets the needs of the seasonal design calendar
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or equivalent qualifications
- Strong creative eye, attention to detail and understanding of men's active market
- Strong sense and understanding of apparel construction
- Well organized with strong problem-solving, time management and communication skills
- Sense of urgency and accountability with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- 3+ years experience in fashion industry
- Experience designing for mass retailers a plus
- Strong Illustrator and Photoshop abilities
- Familiarity with Excel, Word and the Mac platform
- PLM experience a plus
- 3D Clo a plus
Annual salary range starting at $60,000
