Mason School of Business' Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance (“Center”) is to promote the study and practice of finance among students at the Mason School and across the undergraduate student body. The Center offers a wide variety of curricular and co-curricular programs designed to advance student understanding of the principles and practice of finance and better prepare them for successful careers in finance and finance-related fields.The Associate Director partners to direct and support the Center's mission to enable students interested in finance to engage with alumni in becoming truly career-ready and connected to world-class career opportunities. Reporting to the Faculty Executive Director, the Associate Director is responsible for activities, including goal-setting, creating, developing, leading, managing, administering, tracking, and analyzing, all to ensure the highest level of customer service and support for the following:Center events, programs, courses, clubs, conferences, and other engagements.Advising and coaching programs led by students.Strategic relationships with external constituencies critical to the Center's mission, such as alumni, industry professionals, and corporate partners.Working relationships and collaboration with others within the Mason School and William & Mary, such as students, faculty, Advancement (Development and Alumni Relations), the Undergraduate Business Program office, the Career Development and Professional Engagement Center, Financial Operations and other administrative offices.Communications with students, faculty, alumni, and others through newsletters, the Center website/app, LinkedIn, email, and other mechanisms for building awareness and disseminating critical information.The Center's budget, procurement, and expenses.Progress toward goals in these areas.In addition, the Associate Director executes the Center's strategic vision set by the Faculty Executive Director, including adjusting the mix and emphasis of all of these activities to meet that vision.Conditions of EmploymentThis position may require additional hours beyond the typical work week, to include occasional overnight and weekend work as needed to meet the business needs of the operation and is not eligible for overtime.Must also be available to work some nights and weekends depending upon Boehly Center events.Some travel is required.Position restricted to funding availability.We will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this vacancy.Essential DesignationNoFLSAExemptPosition Restricted?Yes, the appointment is limited due to funding availabilityPosition TermFaculty or Staff: 12 monthRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in business, higher education, counseling, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience (typically 2-4 years) in event management or a related field.Experience (typically 2-4 years) in Career development or advising experience.Oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with diverse constituencies including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and business professionals.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.Technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, graphic design software, and database management.Capable of managing multiple priorities and complex situations.Innovative thinker and problem solver.Ability to maintain confidential or sensitive data.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree in a relevant field.Background in corporate or alumni relations.Experience with staff and student management.Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply institutional rules and regulations.A thorough understanding of the scheduling, registration, and curricular planning process.The capability of evaluating student records and the ability to work with various academic affairs and student services areas within William & Mary.Ability to apply the highest level of customer service and support to alumni and corporate partners.Business/Finance coaching experience.Experience working with and presenting to boards and councils.Experience with enterprise student information systems, document sharing software, learning management systems, and procurement systems.Is the position remote work eligible?Hybrid (works remotely at least 1 day per week but not full-time)Remote Work DisclaimerRemote work eligibility is not guaranteed and is subject to approval.
