Department Summary

The Office of Admissions is a vital contributor to the enrollment success at the University of North Texas through student outreach, recruitment endeavors, and a commitment to providing personalized assistance to students throughout the college application and admissions process.

Position Overview

The Office of Admissions at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Associate Director to assist in all strategic and operational activities for the recruitment of students, under the direction of the Sr Director, Admissions Recruitment & Outreach. This position is responsible for participation in all aspects of the outreach of high school and college students and will provide expertise to implement, develop, and evaluate new student enrollment initiatives for assigned student groups.

The Associate Director will lead efforts to increase the entire university's new undergraduate student enrollment by collaborating with campus partners and overseeing the implementation of the Admissions and Outreach Strategic plans. This position will also provide updated data from various resources, maintain Customer Relation Management (CRM) functions and trainings, strategically make recommendations for recruitment territories, vendor purchases, and overall vision of the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Knowledge of University admissions standards, policies, and procedures, and special admissions procedures or ability to quickly assimilate, knowledge of university curriculum and academic policies and procedures, and of the training and qualifications needed to perform University academic work satisfactorily.

* Strong written and oral communications skills and strong presentation and counseling skills.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and students and parents from a diverse population.

* Ability to supervise, train, and plan work of subordinates.

* Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.

* Skill in the use of a personal computer, Microsoft Office and/or other software.

* Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

* Ability to obtain personal credit card for travel reimbursement.

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree in related field of higher education, student services, counseling, or related field and seven years of experience.

* Strong organizational skills and ability to simultaneously execute multiple projects.

* Previous supervisory experience.

Job Duties:

* Handles admissions related activities for assigned area including evaluating credentials, policy interpretation, determine eligibility, explain information via multiple methods including presentations to relevant stakeholders, and determine residency status.

* Conducts counseling interviews with ineligible applicants, applicants with residency issues or other admissions related questions and their parents.

* Plans, coordinates and reports on all aspects of the recruitment of undergraduate prospective students including being in contact with relevant stakeholders, planning and scheduling recruitment travel, event planning and implementation participation in programs statewide, and other various recruitment activities. This may involve direct effort in any and all areas of recruitment.

* Hires and oversees staff in assigned area, including hiring, training, evaluation, coaching, and professional development of supervisory staff.

* Participates in strategic planning exercises to align recruitment activities with the mission/goals of the University.

* Communicates with all relevant stakeholders including development of communication plans, draft communications, ongoing communication via social media, email, text, face to face and other relevant modes.

* Builds relationships and partners with stakeholders to meet the goals of the department and university.

* Collaborate across campus with Colleges/Schools/Departments wanting to be added and trained in Salesforce.

* Provide data as needed and necessary both internally with Admissions but also with partners across the university.

* Builds reports using available tools.

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm; occasional overtime and weekends
