Job Description: Reporting to the Director for Alumni Career Engagement, helps fulfill one of the University's brand promises of helping individuals pursue lives of meaning and purpose, which will be accomplished by engaging alumni through lifelong learning events and resources, professional networks, mentoring, digital media and marketing (webinars and podcasts), and by building a culture in which everyone knows and believes Tigers hire and help Tigers. Ensures that staff collaborately support the programs and strategies of each of the Alumni Relations and Development departments and the overreaching goals of service to Trinity University students, faculty, donors, alumni and programs.
JOB DUTIESLifelong Learning Program Development:Directs the development and implementation of lifelong learning programming in accordance with Alumni Career Engagement, Alumni Relations and University objectives.
- Introduces and manages the implementation of new and expanded programming for the core target audience of mid-career professionals, as well as, for future alumni, young alumni and those alumni who are in a late-career stage or are retired.
- Develops, manages and facilitate production of digital programs and resources, including at-home and on-the-go programming. Creates new media content consisting of career engagement-related topics and current trend related topics.
- Develops and executes on-campus programming, such as but not limited to Alumni College for Alumni Weekend.
- Identifies appropriate alumni, faculty and outside experts to speak at programs; coordinates speaker preparation and program materials.
Volunteer Management:- Develops, executes and strengthens pathways for alumni mentoring opportunities. Works with the Director of Alumni Career Engagement, along with campus partners such as CIE and CELCS to optimize existing programs, while developing new opportunities for alumni mentorship through stand-alone connections and development of new, scalable program offerings.
- Serves as the liaison to community interest network (CIN) groups organized around professional specialty/career paths. Provides administrative direction of a process that officially recognizes and provides resources that support the annual programming plans of the CIN groups. Attends monthly or quarterly meetings/events related to the CIN groups as applicable.
Operations & Marketing Management:- Assists with reporting programmatic outcomes that track alumni engagement.
- Manages a process to collect and utilizes survey, behavioral and other data to improve and refine the program and its offerings.
- Assists in the development and execution of marketing plans to raise awareness of Alumni Career Engagement offerings, in collaboration with the Office of Advancement and Strategic Communications & Marketing.
Alumni Relations Team Duties:- Collaborates with the Alumni Relations team in the development and execution of the Alumni Association's signature events such as: Alumni Weekend, River Parade, Holiday Party, etc.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES - Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies.
- Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
- Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
EXPERIENCE Required:
- Two years of paid or volunteer experience in program development and management at a higher education institution, a non-profit organization or private business/company.
Preferred:
- Three years of experience in program development and management at a higher education institution or nonprofit organization.
- Three years of experience working in an alumni relations program at a higher education institution and/or a nonprofit or for-profit education institution.
- Experience in career consulting/coaching-related or similar work experience in talent management or selection assessment.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience producing podcasts and webinars.
- Familiarity with small liberal arts institutions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Required:
- Computer literate with knowledge and ability with word processing equipment and familiarity with data entry and retrieval.
- Ability to work non-traditional business hours and weekends.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Canva, Prezi or similar software.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce and Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with engagement platforms like Anthology, iModules or similar platforms.
- Project management skills including building and implementing project management plans.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS Preferred:
- International Coaching Federation (ICF)
OTHER REQUIREMENTS- All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC).
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to travel on behalf of Trinity University.
