What You'll Do:
* Manage royalty audits conducted by our US, Canadian, and Latin territory clients.
* Main contact to client representative/auditor throughout audit process.
* Manage audit fieldwork process, which includes working with independent auditors, determining the information to provide to auditors, preparing documents for fieldwork, and research/answer any inquiries.
* Research audit claims, which includes research and analysis of the contract, song set up, source statements, and royalty processing, then coordinating resolution with Copyright, Business Affairs, Income Tracking, the Global Royalty Center and the affiliate offices.
* Calculate royalty amounts due upon audit, as well as estimations for negotiations.
* Write and distribute audit responses to clients.
* Close audits-including negotiations, payment requests, documentation, and communication with Business Affairs and Finance, includes managing audit exposure and liabilities.
* Manage audit tracking database and update audit accrual for Accounting.
* Produce client audit status reports to senior management.
* Assist with the preparation of documents and responses for Sony's legal department as needed for current litigation issues, including copyright infringement disputes, when audits are involved.
* Manage special projects as necessary, including researching and calculating royalty adjustments as well as researching client questions, associated to audits.
* Provide audit support for affiliate offices with procedures and responses to claims.
* Draft Audit Settlement agreements to submit to Business Affairs for approval.
Who You Are: (skills and experience required)
* A professional with a bachelor's degree and/or 5 years related experience in a music publishing or similar environment.
* You are able to effectively self-manage your time and operate under tight deadlines, reprioritizing tasks as business demands require.
* You are highly organized and able to manage many requests from multiple sources with efficient and effective follow-through to a resolution.
* You have advanced Excel and other Microsoft application skills.
* You have exceptional attention to detail, systems processing, data analysis and learning new technology.
* You possess outstanding communication skills, allowing you to communicate verbally and in written form in a way that explains complex data in a clear, concise and professional manner; experience with interpreting legal contracts preferred.
* You think critically, problem solve, and collaborate well with colleagues throughout the company.
* Must be authorized to work in the United States.
* 7.5-hour business workday but variations in work volume frequently require extended working hours for evening and late-night events.
