Job Type: Officer of Administration Regular/Temporary: Regular Hours Per Week: 35 Salary Range: $78,000 - $89,000 The salary of the finalist selected for this role willbe set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Director of Employer Relations, the Associate Director will play a critical role in driving the Career Management Center's (CMC) overall employer relations function. This role will drive recruiting efforts for all Columbia Business School (CBS) student populations-full-time MBA, Executive MBA, Dual MBA/Executive MS: Engineering & Applied Science (MBAxMS), and specialty masters students-and alumni. The Associate Director will bring an enthusiasm in cultivating relationships and fostering partnerships with a particular emphasis on the evolving technology section, ensuring impactful career opportunities for MBA talent. Collaborating across the Business School community including - CMC, Dean's Office, Office of Student Affairs, Office of DEI, and student organizations - the Associate Director will bring a collaborative mindset, energy, and creativity to building and expanding employer engagement. The ideal candidate will possess the initiative to identify new opportunities, the vision to strengthen employer relationships, and the enthusiasm to advance CBS's mission. Responsibilities Employer Engagement & Relationship Management: - Serves as sector lead and strategic advisor for employers and alumni in the technology sector (including fintech), healthcare and other sectors as assigned.
- Identifies, initiates, nurtures new engagement with employers who are interested in hiring CBS talent who have a focus on growth potential for hiring CBS students with particular focus on emerging technology companies and startups.
- Designs and implements innovative strategies to convert prospective employers into active recruiting partners.
- Develops and executes engagement plans that help employers build sustainable talent acquisition pipelines.
- Builds and maintains relationships with employers in high-growth areas aligned with student interests. Event Planning & Execution
- Drives high-impact recruiting and educational events on campus with meticulous attention to detail.
- Engages employers in target industries as event speakers and panelists.
- Partners with student clubs to develop industry insights and guide career exploration through treks and conferences. Data-Driven Strategy & Analysis
- Analyzes engagement metrics to assess outcomes, inform strategy, and demonstrate impact.
- Partners with Executive Director to define and redefine engagement strategy for target industries. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in career services, recruiting, or related field.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
- Deep understanding of technology industry hiring trends and MBA recruitment landscape.
- Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making.
- Demonstrated success in project management and program development. Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master's degree in related field.
- 5+ years of experience in the technology sector or healthcare sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of current and future hiring trends in technology and/or healthcare.
- Experience working with diverse student populations in competitive MBA environments.
