JOB TITLE: Associate Director of Faculty Affairs, Greater Charlotte Region
JOB SUMMARY: Provides leadership, administrative oversight, and direction to the Faculty Affairs processes, focusing on operations and program management at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Greater Charlotte Region Campus. In partnership with the Assistant Vice President of Faculty Affairs, leads in the development, implementation and operational oversight of policies and procedures impacting regional faculty and department. Serves as initial resource and leads strategic initiatives of faculty engagement and development.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field, with two years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an academic medical center preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: n/a
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for administering faculty processes including appointments, promotion, and tenure; annual performance reviews, awards and recognition, and appointment extensions. Leads the development and administration of Faculty Affairs Greater Charlotte Regional Campus functions. Develops and evaluates regional goals and objectives to comply with Office of Faculty Affairs and WFUSM Strategic Initiatives. Achieves financial objective including preparing annual expense budget, analyzing expenditures, reviewing monthly variance reports and monitory salary budget. Generates financial analysis, forecasts, and performance reports. Develops mechanisms to create, implement, and support Greater Charlotte Region Campus Committees such as Departmental Promotion and Tenure Committee and regional Dean Standing Committees. Ensures compliance with all LCME standards and internal policies and procedures. Coordinates and directs process improvement initiatives utilizing the discipline of project management. Takes global responsibility for all aspects of Regional Office in the absence of the Assistant Vice President of Faculty Affairs and Vice Dean of Faculty Affairs. Interacts with faculty and department leadership to assure quality management of faculty affairs and programs for the academic learning health system. Creates, implements, and manages structured programs on policies, procedures, technical development, and technology development. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong facilitation, quantitative and analytical skills Understanding of financial cost and budgeting Ability to multitask and prioritize Strong PC background in computer spreadsheets systems and presentation packages Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (unless alternate software package is specified by the department)
