  • Plan and implement onboarding and support strategies for the different segments of ONT's customer base, to increase device utilization in the field.
  • Closely monitor the activity of Major/Strategic accounts together with the FAS and Sales teams in the region to ensure minimal downtime on boxes in the field, and effective feedback to the internal teams for timely product and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure high level of customer satisfaction by reviewing customer feedback, and monitoring team and individual key performance indicators.
  • Effectively communicate customer feedback to relevant internal teams (Technical Services, PM, Applications, Customer Service, Sales, Commercial Operations, Logistics) to allow the quick improvement of in-field product and service performance.
  • Monitor training workload and distribute trainings based on expertise and availability of the local team.
  • Recruit and onboard personnel (Field Applications Scientists) in line with company and departmental goals and timelines, to ensure optimal team performance and effectiveness.
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
Education/ExperienceYou must have a PhD degree in life sciences or applicable area, or extensive experience within the field.You should have previous experience managing a large region and leading a team with diverse expertise and roles, along with commercial experience in a support or customer-facing role. Oxford Nanopore is a fast-paced environment, and we are looking for someone up for the challenge - could this be you?You will have lab experience with proven knowledge and understanding of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology and related fields. Previous experience in giving oral presentations, teaching or training other scientists is also being sought.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Needed
  • Previous experience and knowledge of the sequencing market
  • Experience working with SalesForce.com or a similar CRM database.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office
  • Effective written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and project over the telephone.
  • Strong dedication to customer service and satisfaction
  • Ability to manage many priorities at one time.
  • Technical competence to understand and clearly discuss fundamental theory and principles of experimental design, techniques and results; to stay current in technical knowledge; ability to troubleshoot and to provide information back to customers in a helpful, courteous, positive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work effectively both interdepartmentally and internationally.
  • General working knowledge of bioinformatics and sequence analysis tools. Genome assembly and annotation, structural variant detection and phylogenetic analysis are especially relevant for the role.
  • Travel could be up to 40%

The salary offered will reflect the skills and experience of the candidate.Certain roles within ONT are eligible annual bonus and stock.
