Cultivate Learning has an outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director for Continuous Quality Improvement to join their team.

The Associate Director for Continuous Quality Improvement, reporting to the Director of Professional Learning and Coaching, will support Cultivate Learning's core value to increase access to high-quality, equitable learning environments for children, youth, and families. The main components of this role are:

  • Providing leadership, strategic thinking, and a process for continuous quality improvement to align the learnings from Washington state system evaluation efforts to professional development initiatives.
  • Management of Content Development projects across coaching and professional development initiatives for Washington including project management and oversight.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Coaching Support and Professional Development (40%)
    • In collaboration with Center leadership and other collaborators, develop innovative approaches to disseminate practice-based coaching for childcare providers.
    • Develop and manage content projects for coach certificate and other coach training pathways.
    • Provide ongoing mentoring and support to Early Achievers coaches.
    • Foster ongoing positive and productive relationships with Washington partners.
    • Use independent judgment related to coaching support.
    • Provide oversight of team content projects and write high-quality content for trainings.
    • Direct the delivery of community trainings.
    • Independently support local and national marketing efforts for the use of CECI.
    • Stay current with the research literature related to coaching and professional development.
    • Oversee the planning and delivery of large-scale Institutes and special professional development events.
    • Review data and analyze PD gaps to develop project plans.
    • Collaborate internally with resource development and communication teams.
    • Community Relations (10%)
    • Develop strong and effective collaborative relationships with DCYF, CCA of WA, SOWA, ECEAP, and regional coordinators.
    • Assist in community relations endeavors via presentations and outreach.
    • Develop community partnerships that help increase awareness of Cultivate Learning.
    • Leverage data from statewide landscape and workforce initiatives.
    • Develop and maintain effective systems of communication.
    • Management and Operations (25%)
    • Supervise and lead the work of 3 FTE.
    • Provide ongoing leadership and direction to the team.
    • Implement and maintain University office policies.
    • Monitor the work of team members to ensure that correct procedures are followed.
    • Oversee staff performance and manage project-specific budgets.
    • Review and approve staff leave requests and timesheets.
    • Develop and maintain logs and documents to track key project decisions.
    • Content Development and Training (25%)
    • Support content development for professional development projects and trainings.
    • Deliver trainings on a variety of early childhood topics.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Education and Adult Learning or Public Policy, or related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in the field related to early learning, childcare quality, and coaching.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Significant experience in leading a team and overseeing staff development.
    • Knowledge of childcare quality research.
    • Experience in Early Childhood Education, Professional Development, and Coaching.
    • Demonstrated independence, initiative, and excellent time management.
    • Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to think critically and strategically.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • A Doctoral Degree in Education, Educational Psychology, or related field.
