UNC Greensboro is located in a city of 287,019 in the central part of the state, with a metropolitan area population of 1,089,155.Position Summary* Re-Post, Previous Applicants Need Not Re-Apply, Still Under ConsiderationThe Associate Director for Leadership, who reports to the Director of Leadership and Civic Engagement, provides a compelling vision for systematic leadership development across UNCG. The Associate Director, in collaboration with the Associate Director for Civic Engagement, provide direction on the integration of leadership, service, and civic engagement across the office. The Associate Director fosters relationships on and off campus that lead to sustainable programs designed to enrich student leadership development. The Associate Director understands and incorporates theoretical models of leadership development, including an emphasis on the social change model. The Associate Director is expected to be well-versed in leadership and student development literature with the ability to advance scholarship within the field. With an office, division, and institutional commitment to student retention and student success, this position works to implement the leadership portfolio and support these efforts in the office and across campus. The Associate Director advances institutionalization of curricular and co-curricular processes and infrastructure for campus-wide leadership development within the academic mission of UNCG and consults frequently with other programmatic units throughout the university.
