THE OPPORTUNITY

The Associate Director of Marketing for Discretionary Private Investing will be a critical member of both the strategic marketing and discretionary private investment teams at Cambridge Associates. This individual will contribute to positioning, brand building, and communication of the firm's private investment capabilities and offerings, and will be a lead contributor to marketing efforts in support of the firm's discretionary private investment growth goals. This position requires significant interaction with Cambridge Associates' leadership, investment, strategy, business development, and marketing teams.

In this role, the Associate Director will help support the discretionary private investment team's growth, brand building, and strategic priorities in multiple ways. This individual will contribute to the development and implementation of marketing plans and programs, marketing materials, and internal and external communications efforts. Effective positioning and articulation of specific investment strategies and client offerings will also be an important part of this role. The Associate Director will contribute to and collaborate with other team members on the creation and use of marketing campaigns; cultivation and oversight of external exposure opportunities such as Cambridge Associates events and industry conferences; digital marketing efforts related to private investing; and analysis of discretionary private investment marketing content and campaign effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the implementation of marketing plans designed to raise awareness of the firm's discretionary private investment capabilities, ideas, and offerings.
  • Assist in developing and refining the firm's value proposition and key messages related to specific private investment-related strategies or focus areas.
  • Create marketing content and messaging, including materials, presentations, and external communications that effectively position and explain the firm's discretionary private investment strengths and offerings.
  • Contribute to ensuring consistent access to, and use of, private investment marketing materials by Cambridge Associates investment teams and other internal colleagues.
  • Provide consistent language and methods for communicating about the firm's discretionary private investment strategies and vehicles.
  • Closely collaborate with other marketing colleague(s) on marketing activities including external communications, conferences, events, digital strategies, campaigns, and public relations.
  • Coordinate external branding opportunities with external industry partners.
  • Contribute to the curation of private investments-related content on Cambridge Associates' public website as well as in digital promotion strategies and campaigns (email campaigns, paid search strategies, LinkedIn advertising, etc.).
  • Assess and report on results of discretionary private investment marketing efforts, using available metrics and tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7–10 years of investment marketing experience, preferably in an institutional investment setting.
  • Knowledge of private investing, and of capital markets and investment management principles, including an understanding of the investment industry, distribution channels, and investment vehicles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, which include the abilities to be a team player and partner effectively with others in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated strategic marketing and marketing program management experience, with knowledge of marketing concepts and practices.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including facility in writing marketing collateral, and other communications, and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities, and detail orientation.
  • Quantitative and conceptual analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize responsibilities appropriately.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Internal candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience with the firm.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
