Full Time: 40 hours per week; 52 weeks per yearAnnual Salary: $61,250Benefits Eligible: Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, Medical/Dental/Vision insurance, Employer Health Savings Account contribution, Life/AD&D/STD/LTD insurance and retirement plan with employer contribution and match.POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for overseeing and managing the high-quality implementation of the Communities In Schools of Kalamazoo's (CIS) after-school programs in Kalamazoo Public Schools (KPS) that are compliant with the requirements for 21st Century Community Learning Centers. Provides direct supervision to After-School Coordinators (ASCs) in assigned school sites to assure delivery that complies with all standards and grant requirements. Is responsible to ensure effective relationships and customer service with all school and community partners to support the delivery of services to students that addresses their needs and school needs most effectively. Assures that there is a high functioning CIS service team within each site. Provides effective supervision, coaching and professional development, ensuring that CIS is effective at both the school level and at the individual student delivery level. Assures the effective utilization of community resources within all assigned sites, including volunteers, service delivery partners and parents. Collaborates in the responsibility for comprehensive grants management including effective implementation of grants proposals, reporting and compliance, and working with the Senior Director to effectively implement the budget, purchasing, facilities, payroll and human resources policies and requirements. Responsible for assuring compliance with Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements. Is responsible for the effective implementation of high-quality summer programs for designated students that meets all requirements.WORKING CONDITIONSNormal working conditions where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like. Occasionally lifts average 15-pound boxes of supplies, materials, etc. to waist high level. Ability to drive plus the availability of a vehicle to use for getting to and from meetings locally and throughout the State, other events. Valid Michigan drivers license and the ability to obtain necessary auto insurance for the above purposes. Must be able to observe and hear students, staff and providers across a wide range of settings and interpret those observations for the purpose of evaluation, monitoring and service modifications. Must be able to work occasional evenings, weekends and/or early mornings in order to cover work responsibilities. Must be available for occasional travel to national level meetings.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilize knowledge of child and adolescent development and other measures of quality including YPQA and continuous improvement practices.Provides regular on-site supervision of all coordinators and coaches including observation, case discussions, file review, compliance checklists and other coaching and development strategies. Develops and conducts information and training sessions for all levels of staff within assigned school buildings.Establishes and maintains productive working relationships with all internal and external members of the CIS partnership, including school personnel. Provides leadership, guidance, consultation and motivation to all participants.Assures the timely and accurate utilization of multiple tracking/data collection systems. Collaborates with internal and external quality and evaluation professionals to oversee and interpret tasks associated with monitoring, evaluating and improving CIS programs and services.Works effectively with KPS building principals to ensure effective customer service, monitoring and adjusting of services and routine problem-solving.Participates in the selection and supervision of CIS personnel for each assigned site and helps to engage the principal in selection of coordinators.Provides regular input on policies, procedures and practices that reflect the knowledge, experience and expertise of sites and staff supervised.Positively represents CIS in collective community opportunities that are assigned.Performs basic budget monitoring for all assigned sites, authorizing expenditures consistent with approved budgets and approval limits.Plan and conduct regular meetings with school personnel, site coordinator, and key partners to review progress, and correct potential problems.Effectively maintains two-way communications between sites/site staff and central CIS staff to ensure that there is a strong two-way flow of information.Exhibits a commitment to the values expressed in CIS mission and vision and creates and maintains a positive CIS image. Demonstrates the ability to interact in a positive and helpful manner with all customers both internally and externally. Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the workplace and toward his/her job.Other duties as assigned by supervisor.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREDBachelors degree in one of the following areas or MiSAYD certification is preferred: Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Child Development, Child Guidance/Counseling, Child Psychology, Social Work, Human Services and Youth Development.Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with children, adolescents and families.At least 21 years of age.Valid Michigan drivers license, availability of a vehicle and vehicle insurance.Prior experience supervising others in an effective manner on both a formal and informal basis.Well-developed leadership abilities and interpersonal relationship skills, including the capacity to form effective relationships and represent the organization with a wide range of stakeholders such as State and local funders, partners, donors, parents, school district leadership and students.Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with school staff, parents, students, volunteers, service providers and other team members. Ability to establish credibility with school personnel.Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, integrity, and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and to effectively convey such information to others.Well-developed knowledge base of the needs/issues of children and families.Appreciation and embracement of diversity and inclusiveness.#J-18808-Ljbffr
