The Cornell Fitness Centers operates five different fitness centers across campus, typically offers 95+ group fitness classes a week, and works with many of departments across campus to meet fitness and wellness needs for the Cornell University community.The Associate Director of Fitness Operations is an incredible opportunity for a dynamic and creative facility operations professional to gain experience at a premier university fitness program. This position provides oversight for the various operational needs of the Cornell Fitness Centers, serving over 14,000 students, staff and faculty throughout five different fitness centers across campus. This role manages the recruitment, training and development for all student and temporary staff (approximately 200 total) that work in the fitness centers, and supervises professional staff that support this operation. In addition to scheduling and hiring, the Associate Director oversees personnel issues, including performance, payroll and operational adjustments. This position develops and maintains the policies and procedures related to staffing and facility operations.Success FactorsKey success factors in this role include the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail to allow the individual to successfully navigate the various management responsibilities of the position.
