Reporting to the assistant dean of academic advising, the associate director facilitates the development, promotion, and management of study abroad programs for LVC students and faculty. Responsibilities include student advisement of study abroad program opportunities including course options, cultural, social and academic issues, and foreign immigration and travel requirements. Responsibilities also include oversight of safety and risk management policies for study abroad programs including daily monitoring of global events, design and delivery of pre-departure information handbook and presentations for students, faculty and parents, and 24/7 crisis response readiness and the design and maintenance of study abroad budgets, scholarship portfolio, and policies, etc. Qualifications include a bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred, experience with international travel and an understanding of intercultural competence, experience studying abroad at the undergraduate or graduate level, and two years of professional experience preferably working in higher education.
