WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER
The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is a creative, strategic, and organized marketing and communications professional with a passion for nature. They are driven to excel and to support colleagues in achieving their potential while contributing to a dynamic, flexible and fun workplace culture.
As a member of the Ohio staff leadership team, they advise the strategic direction of the Ohio Chapter and share responsibility for our performance and culture. They create, implement and adaptively manage a comprehensive plan to deploy annual and longer-term programs and actions (including online and print communications, media relations, strategic partnerships, industry publications, social media, sponsorships, and engagement with key audiences) to support our global goals strategies to protect land and water for nature and people.
The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications is based in Ohio and serves as an informed and proactive resource for Ohio colleagues, volunteer leaders and the media. They supervise or co-manage team members and engage with the Conservancy's global marketing network of professional staff members. The Associate Director of Marketing and Communications collaborates closely with marketing peers of the Midwest Division ((Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin) and other conservation strategy colleagues with a particular focus on advancing impactful policy initiatives across the Midwest Division.
In addition to building awareness and support among key audiences, the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications helps achieve TNC goals through strategic communications (persuading targeted audiences to adopt specific conservation practices) and advising advocacy work and policy outcomes. They manage their program budget and oversee the operational delivery of The Nature Conservancy's established branding principles, whether applied internally or with external partners. Should the need arise, they play a leadership role in risk analysis and crisis communications.
As the Associate Director of Marketing, you will:
* Serves on the Ohio chapter leadership team and acts as a thought partner to the Ohio staff team, the Ohio Chapter Board of Trustees, and the Midwest Division executive leadership team.
* Designs, manages and implements multiple projects by coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization.
* Manages one or more professional staff and be accountable for achieving team business and professional development goals and objectives.
* Leads marketing initiatives through collaboration with key stakeholders.
* Assists with the creation/administration of the budget, evaluate results and develop corrective strategies, as needed.
* Responsibility and accountability for meeting strategic goals and objectives.
* Opportunity to act independently within specific program or project goals.
* May manage one or more professional staff and accountable for achievement of team business and professional development goals and objectives.
* Occasional travel for business meetings, team retreats, and/or professional development.
* Other related duties as assigned.

* Demonstrated ability in managing the fiduciary aspects of planning and delivery of budgets.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
* Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience supervising staff and teams.
* Experience cultivating and managing client relationships.
* Experience in project management, developing marketing strategies and measuring results.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $85,100 - $97,580 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
