The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a long term care setting, and experience in training and leading clinical staff. The Associate Director of Nursing helps the Director of Nursing with all nursing tasks. The Associate Director of Nursing is responsible for helping with education for all staff members. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills. They will also have adept interpersonal skills and the ability to manage and empower staff at various levels. Must be knowledgeable in regulatory and infection control compliance. The Associate Director of Nursing must be able to step into different roles to support the overall Department of Nursing.DUTIES:Assist the DON with management responsibilities and in maintaining quality of careResponsible for Wound/Skin Rounds weeklyAssist with compliance and ensure effective communication with all levels of nursing staffMeet the nursing medical needs of all residentsCoordinate and direct the total planning for nursing servicesMaintain a comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practiceResponsible for the accurate and timely completion of medical recordsAssist with interviewing, hiring and orienting of new nursing staffOversee daily staffing processMaintain flexibility with work schedule to address unpredictable needsREQUIREMENTS:Current New York RN license requiredMin. 3 yrs. exp. in Long-Term Care settingsInterest in Geriatrics2 years management experience preferred1 year staff education experience preferredExcellent Communication Skills requiredEvidence of basic leadership skills and supervisionFlexible hours requiredWe offer:Competitive wages and excellent vacation, holiday and sick leave packages.Health, dental, vision and life insurance.Direct deposit and weekly paychecks.ABOUT US:We are a premier skilled nursing facility located in Erie County, New York.
