We deliver end-to-end solutions that result in revolutionary work. Who we are looking for: VML Health is seeking an Associate Director, Scientific Strategy to join the team in our New York office. The Associate Director, Scientific Strategy provides scientific/medical knowledge and strategic support to teams on multiple agency accounts; synthesizes a broad range of category and competitive information to identify unique strategies that will benefit our clients' brands; ensures that the highest levels of scientific/medical rigor and strategic integrity are maintained across agency deliverables, including new business pitches, presentations, and produced materials. What you'll be doing: Scientific Thinking and Marketing Savvy
  • Provide overall scientific strategy support for a portfolio of accounts; guide agency projects to ensure they are medically and scientifically sound and adhere to the highest levels of integrity.
  • Develop a thorough familiarity with each brand's data, clinical trial program, target audience, market landscape, and competitors, often acting as an agency partner to the brand's own internal medical directors.
  • Act as a resource for other disciplines to increase knowledge of relevant health conditions and therapies.
  • Provide creative copy teams with support in understanding therapeutic categories and data interpretation.
  • Consult with creative teams on copy flow, data visualization, and project accuracy and relevance.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams in developing and implementing sound marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Stay current with trends and standards in assigned therapeutic categories.
  • Utilize data mining and secondary research to identify or support claims consistent with the client's strategic direction.
  • Attend scientific conferences to gather data, draft reports, interview experts, and interface with client's medical and marketing teams.
  • Participate in business development activities, including preparing disease backgrounders, conducting research, assisting with content development, and participating in client presentations.
  • Conduct primary research among key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and patients to support agency accounts.
  • Maintain relationships with key physicians and opinion leaders.
  • Work closely with other divisions of VML Health for medical/scientific strategic support as needed.
What You'll Need:
  • Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • 2-3 years previous agency experience
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Internet search, Pubmed
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills

  • Manages time effectively and good multi-tasker
