About our client

Our client is a leading Indian pharmaceutical company, headquartered in Bengaluru and a footprint across 100 countries. The company manufactures pharmaceutical products, over-the-counter drugs, and nutraceuticals. They operate two business verticals, Regulated Markets and Emerging Markets.

About the role

  • This role will be a critical part of the company's US business both now and in the future. This role will manage demand and supply synchronization across the company's network of supply centers and customers.
  • As part of growing the business, it will determine supply feasibility for new business opportunities (including RFP or OTB's). In support of existing business, this role will work to ensure consistent supply via communication with our commercial organization, supply centers, logistics (domestic warehouse managers and customs brokers/freight forwarders) and other stakeholders in the organization.

As an Associate Director for Supply Chain, you will be responsible for...

  • Maintaining and updating the DOH worksheet and communicating any potential risks to the business
  • Working closely with the company's corporate SCM team on prioritizing the supply plan
  • Where risks exist, mitigating by evaluating with the cross functional teams and identifying a plan to resolve
  • Working with company's logistics to develop a replenishment process that will balance network inventory between our internal warehouses and the 3PL warehouse
  • Evaluating opportunities for optimization where appropriate so that we can assure customer service levels are maintained
  • Maintaining master data of existing products
  • Creating master data for new products
  • Updating drug shortage lists as requires by FDA/Regulatory
  • Working with commercial organization on translating the commercial forecast to an operational demand plan
  • Managing supply chain confirmation process for new business opportunities
  • Linking the commercial team that maintains the forecast to the process of updating bid results so that they are maintained in the supply plan
  • Working with customer service to provide detail on any back ordered products or upcoming supply interruptions
  • Developing and maintaining productive relationships internally and with suppliers, vendors and third-party strategic alliance partners as a means to achieve maximum benefit from supply chain initiatives
  • Managing the flow of goods from India into the US distribution network
  • Managing the balance of finished goods within the US network.
  • Developing a replenishment process that triggers automated order creation from the local warehouse to the 3PL
  • Aiding in the development of logistics strategy for the next 3-5 years

What you already have...

  • 3-5 years of SCM experience with a focus on inventory management
  • Bachelors in logistic management or relevant experience
  • 5 years of SAP experience a must (ability needs to be demonstrated)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, well organized, and a proven ability to multi-task
  • Self-starter and team-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict under pressure with time constraints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both with users and leadership
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures and practices
  • Organized, attentive to detail & functions with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to analyze and solve problem effectively
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge and understanding of computer applications (SAP experience a must)
