Location: Corpus Christi,TX, USA
Provides support in the total planning and execution of petroleum refinery electrical projects, provides electrical support to multi-disciplined projects, and provides technical assistance to maintenance and operations in efforts to improve electrical system reliability.
* Provides electrical support to refinery projects, including preparation of the electrical equipment design specifications, development of electrical equipment procurement packages, and providing construction/startup technical support.
* Provides technical assistance to the refinery on routine electrical issues, including technical field service, troubleshooting, recommendations for repairs in the field, general consulting on electrical issues, participation in Root Cause Failure Analyses, and mentoring of personnel working in the I&E shop.
* Develops electrical system reliability improvement opportunities, including participation in development and execution of a strategy to improve plant electrical reliability. This strategy involves capital improvement, preventive maintenance, repair strategies, etc
* Updates and maintains electrical system relay coordination and short circuit studies.
* Prepares high voltage switching procedures. Coordinates and oversees the execution of these procedures by Operations or Maintenance personnel.
* Proposes amendments to electrical specifications as necessary to address latest codes and technology.
* Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
* Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods, and represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
* Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines.
* Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.
* Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Bill Greehey Refinery, required.
* Graduation date of December 2024 or May 2025 required
* Bachelor's or higher level degree in Electrical Engineering required.
* Overall GPA of 3.2 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
