Job Description:

Addison Group's in-house legal team is hiring for a newly created role! This position will report to the in-house Employment Counsel and will be responsible for interpreting and providing advice on all areas of employment law and policy including wage and hour laws, workplace safety, rest break laws, disability leave laws, workplace harassment, employee discrimination, discipline and terminations. As a strategic partner to HR, this person will assist in developing and implementing standard methodologies to support the growth of the company.

Responsibilities include:

Provides advice and counsel related to the interpretation of employment laws.

Reviews and provides input on policies, procedures and specific cases impacted by legislation such as FLSA, ADA, FMLA, ERISA, Workers Compensation, employment discrimination laws, etc.

Drafts and develops Human Resources policies and procedures, as needed. Prepares position statements in response to EEOC claims.

Researches employment law to address and resolve employment matters.

Assists with internal investigations to outline facts and compile information in an effort to negotiate resolution of claims.

Develops training programs on employee relations matters including employment law updates and documentation preparation.

Provides input on HR, legal and compliance sections of MSA and RFP documents.

Maintains executive confidence and protects operations by providing the utmost confidentiality in all business-related matters.

Privy to confidential matters including special projects, acquisitions, etc. Assists EVP, Human Resources, and outside counsel in litigation matters.

Composes and edits letters in response to correspondence received by the company involving current or former employees and other legal matters.

Assists with materials for executive meetings and other scheduled meetings. Manages files of documentation for new/pending/closed legal matters.

Uses solid business insight to understand companys business and anticipate the nature and magnitude of potential issues that could arise in various settings.

Executes necessary and precautionary measures in order to protect the company from potential legal risks.

Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

Licensed to practice law in at least one state.

2-4 years of relevant experience required. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Strong analytical ability and advocacy skills. Strong time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines.

Excellent written/verbal communication and negotiation skills to drive execution to suitable conclusion.

Exceptional interpersonal skills during all interactions with all levels of employees. Critical thinker and problem solver.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.

Team player with strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and ability to multi- task.

Ability to work efficiently, maintaining a calm and positive demeanor while operating in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment at a rapidly-growing company.
