Job Description:
JOB SUMMARYThe purpose of this job within the organization is to provide engineering expertise in the review of engineering plans throughout the Authority and development plans that will affect Authority infrastructure. This job works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Reviews and comments on submitted developer construction drawings and various engineering permits; conveys necessary corrections to applicants; meets with applicants individually as needed.
  • Reviews and comments on submitted plats; coordinates with outside involved agencies to ensure that consideration is given to overlapping standards and regulations.
  • Provides customer service on behalf of the Authority to applicants, developers, engineers, Authority staff, and consultants to resolve permit issues if any.
  • Conducts field investigations and visits to project sites and/or problem areas in order to provide engineering solutions.
  • Develops and reviews Authority standards, details and approved products.
  • Assists other divisions in the development of standard operating procedures to inspect and evaluate existing infrastructure.
  • Utilization of the Authority's asset management system (Cartegraph) to update infrastructure assessments and development utility crossings.
  • Resolves day-to-day issues; uses analytical skills to identify issues and make decisions.
  • Ensure all external customers, vendors, contractors, government regulators & members of the public relationships are maintained on a professional and productive basis.
  • Interact with organization team members and other departments on a professional and productive basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The work is typically performed in a clerical, office While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to operate various office machines and/or equipment; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Some work will require exposure to the outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dirt, dust, grease, and machinery with moving Work requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
QUALIFICATIONS/PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Minimum 5 years of Civil Engineering
  • Ability to understand and cooperate with programs, projects, and procedures as necessary to achieve team objectives.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication and preparing clear & precise
  • High level of understanding and competency in utilizing a wide variety of software and computer applications, including AutoCAD, MS Office, Microsoft Project or Primavera, and other applications specific to the job.
