Job Description:

Neuberger Berman is building out a data governance practice focused on enterprise data. The Enterprise Data Governance Team is a critical component of this practice and is looking for an experienced data associate. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the onboarding of data domains into our data governance framework. The specialist will have to lead meetings with the business community, collect data and process requirements. In many situations, they may have to demonstrate insight to ask leading questions to elicit information. The specialist will need to analyze and document their findings and will need to be able to present the results of their analyses. The specialist will be responsible for documenting key processes and working with the team to identify root causes of operational bottlenecks. This will be accomplished through performing data analysis, data and process design, and data profiling to support the development of solutions. The specialist will also be responsible for updating the firm's business glossary and working with data stewards to define rules to enhance data quality. Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented with the ability to analyze data and perform in depth data analysis
  • Work across multiple business and technology teams, with the ability to perform data discovery, build data glossaries and catalogs, perform data analysis and data profiling.
  • Business analysis including business process mapping and requirement definition
  • Experience with existing EDM data catalog, business glossary, and data quality vendor tools will be helpful.
  • Manage time independently, work independently and manage multiple open work streams at the same time
  • Experience with one or more of the following topics: Data Management, Data Profiling, Data Quality, Data Glossaries, Data Catalogs, Taxonomy, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Metadata, Data Discovery, Master Data Management, Reporting Dashboards and Visualization, ETL, Data Intake
  • Familiarity with financial services data domains/subdomains including: Product, Party, Client, Price, Securities, Accounts, Broker, Vendor, Corporate Actions, Market, Performance, Trade, Transaction, Person etc
  • Solid technical skills including working experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Python, R, Java, JavaScript, REST, JSON, XML, VBA, Collibra, Alation, Ab Initio, Informatica solutions for MDM, DQ, ETL, integration, metadata management
  • Familiarity with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, is a plus
  • 5 years of Asset Management business experience or Consulting experience, preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Compensation Details The salary range for this role is $110,000-$135,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
