As a profitable and rapidly growing business backed by tier-one venture capital investors, we are seeking to scale our high-performing team.As an Associate, Fund Administration, you will be a foundational part of Hiive's asset management team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will be responsible for the management of Hiive single-asset funds from establishment to wind-down. You will have a deep knowledge of fund administration and support the operations and accounting team in executing Hiive fund transactions. You will liaise with investors, regulators, legal counsel and third-party vendors to execute complex, fast-moving fund structures and create a culture of operational efficiency and excellence.In this role, your responsibilities would include:
- Create the fund administration function at Hiive, which includes setting up policies, processes, procedures, vendor relationships, and templates.
- Establish Hiive Funds and perform all actions to continue their legal existence, including Blue Sky fees, franchise taxes and so on.
- Establish banking relationships on behalf of the fund, open and maintain bank accounts, and liaise with our broader finance and product team on efficient funds flows.
- Track various relevant metrics for fund compliance, including seat counts, retirement assets, investor status, etc.
- Maintain the books and records of the fund including capital accounts, redemptions and distributions.
- Draft and implement a written KYC and AML policy for the Hiive Fund, and implement this policy for each investor admitted into the fund.
- Perform all the actions needed to admit an investor into a fund including KYC, accreditation status, suitability and special situations.
- Handle capital calls and distributions.
- Handle asset acquisition for each fund including reviewing Share Transfer Notices, Share Purchase agreements and all other legal documents associated with the purchase.
- Process and record investor transfers, redemptions and sales.
- Liaise with third-party vendors such as registered agents, outside counsel and banking partners.
- Collaborate closely with the fund operations and fund accounting teams to execute transactions.
- Work with the product and engineering teams to productize fund administration functions over time.
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of direct operating experience in fund administration.
- Prior experience working at a private equity firm, fund administrator, or public accounting firm or law firm with specific experience working on private funds and investments.
- Deep knowledge of onshore and offshore fund administration and compliance standards.
- Prior experience with private equity or VC funds strongly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, resourcefulness and speed of execution.
- Strong multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to communicate priorities and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders, and build constructive high-trust relationships.
Preferable Experience:
- Single asset fund experience
- CFA, CPA, CA or other financial certifications.
