The Legal TeamJoin a team that touches all parts of IEX's innovative and growing business!Associate General CounselIEX is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will be reporting directly to our Deputy General Counsel and will act as a key resource and primary point of contact for our business teams. You should have experience negotiating and drafting complex agreements, providing strategic business focused advice directly to business teams, supporting corporate transactions and corporate governance matters, and exercising strong judgment with a high level of integrity. Ideally you have worked in a regulated environment and are familiar with equities and options markets.This job is a hybrid role located in the New York office. About You: Excellent agreement drafting and negotiating skillsStrategic thinker with a real passion for learning new technologiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to think strategically as well as execute tactically - not afraid to get into the weedsFirm dedication to the core values of IEX - belief in fairness and transparency in the financial marketsWhat you'll do:Act as a key resource and primary point of contact for IEX business teams in need of legal assistancePrepare, review and draft various agreements, including customer agreements, vendor agreements and non-disclosure agreementsHandle legal work for complex agreements and other strategic transactionsPrepare corporate governance documents including preparing resolutions and internal policiesEnsure timely and accurate processing of regulatory and corporate filingsConduct timely reviews of contract and others legal documents, advise business teams of appropriate legal processesWork with internal and external resources to protect IEX's intellectual propertyParticipate in special projects to implement industry initiatives impacting trading and other IEX businessLiaise with FINRA and the SEC and other regulators on exchange, broker-dealer and other regulatory mattersHandle employment matters, updating of relevant policies and proceduresResearch relevant legal and regulatory changes within equity market structureSupport legal projects appropriately in a confidential and sensitive mannerYour background:4+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in large law firm, ideally with some experience working in an in-house legal departmentExperience and subject matter expertise related to corporate law matters, litigation matters and overall legal matters relevant to IEX's businessProven ability to successfully manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlinesLaw degree (JD) from accredited law schoolNY Bar membership requiredWhy You Should Apply:Comprehensive BenefitsNew hire stock equity (RSUs)401K employer matchUnlimited PTO100% coverage for medical, dental, and vision OneMedical membership16 weeks parental leaveWellness BenefitsFlexible workplaceEmployer charity matchLearning stipendCommuter benefitsJump Start onboarding programInternal mentor program cross-departmentallyFriendly and inclusive workplace cultureOur job titles may span more than one career level. The starting annual base pay is between $175,000 and $200,000 for this NY-based position. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.
