Job Title: Associate General Counsel - Labor & Employment
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate General Counsel to join our legal team at Artera. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both private practice and in-house counsel roles, with specific expertise in employment law. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the company's legal strategy and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters, including but not limited to employee relations, compliance, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and benefits.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including contracts, policies, and employment agreements.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support the company's operations and business objectives.
- Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with employment law and regulations.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with employment practices and company policies.
- Represent the company in administrative hearings, mediations, and negotiations as necessary.
- Assist in the development of training programs for employees on legal compliance and best practices.
- Work closely with external counsel when necessary to handle complex legal matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5-8 combined years of experience working as a lawyer in a law firm and as in-house counsel.
- Strong knowledge and experience in employment law, including relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia.
