Duties:Essential Functions: Under the guidance of the Health Policy Manager, the Associate Health Policy Analyst: 1. Develops and maintains a comprehensive contact list of Tribes, Tribal health programs, urban Indian health programs and other state based Tribal organizations. 2. Develops reports of state and federal legislative issues. 3. Develop and conduct presentations to a wide range of audiences. 4. Will work in collaboration with Indian health care stakeholders to address issues of their concern. 5. Advancement of public policy agendas as well as working with detailed statutory and regulatory analysis. 6. Develops and maintains relationships with a wide variety of policy makers, stakeholders and constituencies. 7. Conduct quantitative research. 8. Assist in developing and implementing policy programs and proposals. 9. Regular and predictable attendance. 10. Any additional duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities: 1. Maintain a valid, unrestricted driver's license and ability to be insurable under CRIHB's automobile insurance. 2. Position requires occasional overnight travel within CRIHB's service area. 3. Requires ability to drive up to 7 hours a day.

Qualifications:1. Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of health-related work experience that includes health policy work, completing contractual obligations under an AI/AN health care program, and experience with the culturally sensitive health needs of AI/AN people. 2. Must have a strong healthcare policy background, preferably with a good understanding of California's healthcare landscape, including public and private health insurance programs. 3. Strong writing skills including the ability to produce well organized and informative health and healthcare related reports. 4. Strong presentation skills including the ability to present health and healthcare related information to Tribal leaders and Tribal health program directors. 5. Must be an independent and creative thinker and work well as part of a team. 6. Computer skills including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access, Power point, Outlook), and the ability to conduct Internet research.
