AWT Labels & Packaging is currently searching for an entry-level Human Resources professional at our Minneapolis production facility focused on labeling and packaging conversion. The Associate HR Generalist will directly support the on-site HR Manager with the daily operations of the HR department along with integration projects to streamline AWT's M&A activities across its 10 sites.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Ensures positive employee relations are maintained through open communications and responsiveness to employee concerns. Ensures Human Resources staff is proactively involved with the organization's they support. Ensures fair and timely resolution of employee concerns consistent with established company practices.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management and employees to ensure understanding and support of company policies and practices.
  • Periodically evaluates policies and practices and makes recommendations for changes as appropriate.
  • Administers company performance management and compensation programs. Evaluates and recommends wage and salary actions.
  • Ensures legal compliance with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local employment and labor laws.
  • Administers company benefit programs. Identifies and implements proactive wellness activities. Effectively communicates benefit programs to management and employees.
  • Ensures HRIS needs of the organization are met by managing system data validity and providing management with accurate reporting.
  • Ensure staffing needs for the organization are met. Participates in the selection of qualified candidates. Ensures that all pre-employment processes are robust and result in consistent treatment of all applicants.
  • Acts as a consultant for organizations and individual leaders to assess needs and recommend strategies for improvement.
  • Leads and takes an active part in HR continuous improvement activities.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Possesses a current knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the HR function.
  • Knowledge of HR administration approaches and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and techniques.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects successfully.
  • Efficiency with Microsoft programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or a related field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Zero (0) years of human resources experience required, internship or some practical HR experience preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM certification a plus.
