Description:To be successful in this role you must have a BS degree or higher in Food Science, Chemistry or a related field. An interest in food and flavor chemistry along with an analytical mindset are required. Hands on experience with gas chromatography and mass spectrometry as well as sample preparation techniques would be a plus.
Responsibilities:- Executing complex technical work under the general direction of technical management. This work will relate to the isolation and concentration of flavor compounds from food and beverage products (solvent extractions like LLE, distillations, headspace collections like SPME)
- Acquiring, analyzing, and developing skills at interpreting chromatographic data (GC-MS, HPLC, LCMS)
- Documenting and recording analytical data from flavor research projects
- Maintaining the laboratory and equipment
