ASSOCIATE, MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

SUMMARY:

The Connecticut Green Bank (hereafter Green Bank ) is seeking an Associate to join its Marketing & Communications team.

Working under the supervision of the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Associate will be responsible for supporting specific marketing, communications, and outreach campaigns at the organization and product levels. The Associate will perform a variety of responsibilities that facilitate the team's efforts and support marketing, communications, and outreach for the Green Bank's business lines.

Green Bank, a quasi-public authority, is the nation's first state-level Green Bank, leveraging public funds to increase and accelerate private investment in the green economy of Connecticut. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Individual responsibilities may include:

  • Designing and executing email communications and campaigns using Pardot/Account Engagement;
  • Creating and maintaining the Green Bank's communications calendar, which includes email communications, webinars, events, trainings, etc.;
  • Supporting marketing efforts for various Green Bank solution lines and programs, including project management of marketing initiatives, as needed;
  • Helping to develop, write, and edit Green Bank promotional materials, including collateral, web copy, social media posts, and press releases;
  • Maintaining contact records and distribution lists through Salesforce;
  • Assisting with research studies and market analyses to inform campaigns;
  • Assisting with the planning, promotion, and execution of webinars;
  • Supporting the development, launch, and implementation of community and channel engagement programs and campaigns;
  • Assisting the Marketing team in the development of the annual strategic marketing plans for the Green Bank;
  • Assisting with event planning and execution;
  • Providing administrative support as necessary including scheduling meetings and vendor relations; and,
  • Related duties as required.

The overall duties of this position will be refined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the individual hired and the ongoing needs of the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill, and ability are required:

  • Knowledge of Account Engagement, Pardot, Salesforce, or similar platforms;
  • Understanding of basic principles of marketing;
  • Considerable oral and written communication skills;
  • Solid organizational skills;
  • Ability to work as part of a team, but also work independently, exercise judgment, critical thinking and creativity, and take initiative and manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Excellent strategic, problem-solving and facilitation capability;
  • Experience in program and project management;
  • Ability to oversee external partners;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with management and a diverse set of stakeholders and other parties, at all levels, internally and externally;
  • An adaptable, inquisitive mindset;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

General Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant work experience, particularly focused on marketing and communications. Experience working in clean energy and/or environmental organizations is a plus.

Substitutions Allowed:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience. In this situation, the candidate must have a minimum of one (1) year of relevant internship or full-time work experience.

The Green Bank will determine if this position will be filled at the Associate or Senior Associate level based on the experience and qualifications of the individual selected.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing & Communications.
  • It is expected that the position will be based in the Green Bank's Hartford, CT offices, with opportunities for some remote work.
  • State of CT benefits package, including generous time-off, health insurance covering medical, dental and vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and paid leave.
  • Expected salary ranges from $64,000 - $84,000, but the final salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
