We are excited to invite a creative individual to work as an Associate Merchandiser for multiple women's sportswear brands.You must have a great design aesthetic for print and color and an understanding of brand management. In this role, it is essential to be able to switch gears on demand while keeping the team on point to keep product and information flowing internally and externally. This role is customer-facing.This role requires that you have a good balance of right brain/left brain since there are two primary components:
- You will be instrumental in contributing to the aesthetic of the brand (prints, colors)
- You must be able to help manage the brand by funneling the information to the internal production team as well as the customer. Understanding the brand's DNA is key.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with print sources for selecting prints and colors for presentation
- Choose print and colors that align with the brand's DNA
- Provide print color direction for first samples as well as re-colors for production
- Create monthly color cards and maintain multiple color libraries
- Maintain WIP from development with design through pre-production
- Internal liaison between the design/production/sourcing, flowing all accurate information from beginning to end, ensuring product lifecycle is on time to meet delivery.
- Sales analysis - Provide selling history and comps for styling/costs
- Manage line list, finalize costing with customer and negotiations through PO follow-up
- Create and maintain internal design and customer calendars, send all invites
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Merchandising
- 3+ years of design experience in womenswear / private label
- Fabric/garment knowledge with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong verbal, written communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to funnel questions through proper channels and follow up as needed
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and understand the timeliness of projects and the need for speed to market.
- Attention to detail and solid teamwork are required.

Work Schedule:
- NYC 4-5 days a week on a flex schedule
Salary & Benefits:
- $60-75K dependent on experience
- PTO: Two weeks' vacation, one week of sick leave
