What You'll Do in This Position Patching and maintenance of Windows and Linux servers and clients. Installing and deploying new Windows Servers and Clients. Assisting customers with password issues and resets, account creations, RSA activation requests, classified email account issues, workstation troubleshooting, file transfers from unclassified to classified and resolving CPC-16 (access) requests. Checking RSA server logs, checking Splunk logs for malicious activity, issuing Red Desk tokens. Assisting with configuring and installing network switches, routers, and firewalls. Participate in the development, implementation, and support of information systems and services in accordance with SRNS IT processes and procedures. Comply with team processes and practices for execution of assigned tasks. Develop and maintain technical expertise in networking/ telecommunications. Complete assigned administrative tasks in a timely and quality fashion. Proactively communicate and coordinate with others to provide support for assigned areas. Under the direction of more experienced personnel, perform voice /data networks installation, testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Assist senior personnel in implementation and maintenance of telecommunications/network systems Assist senior personnel in developing network/telecommunications and facilities design specifications. Demonstrate telephony/network troubleshooting skills Provide network/telecommunications project support under the direction of senior personnel. Train under direction of senior personnel to become a backup resource on a more complex system(s) or assume full responsibility for a less complex system(s). Shift schedule is determined by job assignment and may include off hours schedule. Assignment may include 24x7 support as part of an on call rotational assignment. Security Clearance Information SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Clearance Required to Perform Job Q Qualifications We Require High School Diploma, GED, or other equivalent State Credential Other Qualifications Must have experience in the following: - Configuring and troubleshooting Windows Systems - Constructing, maintaining, and administering Unclassified and Secret Networks - Operating in a Secure Environment - Troubleshooting electronic encryption devices Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required. Qualifications We Desire College degree in an IT related discipline (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Technology. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering) is preferred. Network Administration experience. Proven experience in related assignments desirable. General technical knowledge of networking and communications protocols, standard concepts, principals, and techniques.
