Growing together.Optum Pediatric Specialty, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: This is a 37.5 hour work week, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, shift to be determined by the hiring manager upon hire.Location: 1 Dakota Drive, Suite 200, Lake Success, New York, 11042Primary Responsibilities:Greet patients and conduct check-in process: Collect or verify demographic information, including key demographic fieldsLoad or update insurance information as neededAnswer telephone calls promptly and courteously for all specialitiesConfirms and schedule appointmentsVerify eligibility and authorization and flag appointment accordinglyScan insurance card(s)Collect co-payments and outstanding balancesPost payments received in practice management system and provide system-generated receiptsAbility to float to other locations as neededSchedule appointments using approved scheduling guidelinesAbility to be cross trained for medical assistantUse call processing and other applicable functionality in the EHR to take messages and communicate with cliniciansMonitor daily reminder call logs; conduct outreach to patients requiring appointments; contact patients who, no show, for follow up appointments for chronic conditions or preventive careMonitor administrative tasks in the EHR and respond timelyScan and index documents into the EHR; ensure that necessary documents, lab results, etc. are available in advance of patient visitsClose payment batch(es) at the end of each shift, assemble, and balance batch(es) according to Optum cash control proceduresAssist coworkers as needed to assure smooth office operation and delivery of excellent service through teamworkDemonstrate respect for patients and Optum staff by presenting a friendly, courteous manner at all times and maintaining patient confidentialityPerform other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
