Title: Associate Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer Trade: Plumbing/Fire Protection Reports To: Group Leader Position Overview:AMA Group is seeking an Experienced Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer whowill be responsible for overseeing and managing a range of projects, both large and small, with a focus on providing technical leadership in Plumbing/Fire Protection design. As part of this role, you will act as the face of AMA during all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other members of the project team.This is a career-level position. You will conduct complex work important to the organization and contribute to the internal training and development program. Your title within the company will be Associate. Due to the diverse range of project types and sizes, you may at times be accountable for individual technical design.Role Responsibilities:As an Associate Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer, you will be considered a first-level leader. Your responsibilities will include leading project teams, coordinating and conducting daily team activities, as well as advancing the design of projects under your supervision. You will also be entrusted with the role of Junior Project Manager, where you will be responsible for managing small projects. In your role, you will:
- Coordinate and lead daily team activities with inside and outside design team members
- Advance the design of the project with those you supervise
- Become responsible for managing projects through all phases of development
- Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex projects
- Learn and understand contract terms and scope of service
- Responsible for all facets of product delivery to assigned clients and shares accountability for satisfaction
- Manage a significant amount of work as a project manager and be responsible for several projects
- Build relationships with the design team and/or clients
- Respond to requests from clients and communicate information on time to strengthen trust in your advisor
- Work with the Group Leader to inform, manage, and meet project schedules
- Mentor 1-2 developing engineers
RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in engineering required; PE highly preferredExperience:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Plumbing/Fire Protection engineering, preferred
- Field experience required; people management experience highly preferred
- Expert knowledge of building codes and standards, engineering drafting standards, mechanical engineering standards, and other trades
- Expert understanding of the construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
- Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
- Experiencing managing and assisting in managing project teams
