Description
LSUHS is looking to hire an Associate Professor in Occupational Therapy. The incumbent will:
* Collaborate with faculty in development of curriculum which meets or exceeds ACOTE standards
* Advise and mentor students in professional development
* Teach graduate courses in areas of expertise in line with LSU Health OTD Program's philosophy of education, conceptual model, and curriculum design
* Promote student success by showing flexibility in style and work schedule as well as exhibiting a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process
* Actively participate in and contribute to university and departmental committee work
* Provide community service including but not limited to participation in professional organizations, clinical service, community education (lectures, workshops), consultation, etc.
* Demonstrate scholarly productivity in area relevant to the practice of occupational therapy
* Apply for and manage internal and external funding
* Continue professional development in area of expertise and in content delivery methods
Qualifications
The applicant must meet the following:
* Doctor of Occupational Therapy or related Doctorate Degree from regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution
* Licensed to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Louisiana
* Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association
* Membership in the Louisiana State Occupational Therapy Association
* Minimum of five years' experience as a licensed occupational therapy practitioner
* Documented expertise in area of teaching responsibility and knowledge of content delivery methods (hybrid and in-person teaching)
Preferred Qualifications
* Teaching experience at the postgraduate level
* Documented experience conducting/managing OT related research
