Job Description:

Park Lane Projects is seeking an Associate Project Manager for our Los Angeles office.

Our Project Managers act as the primary interface with our clients and lead the client and project team of architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors and other professionals through the process of planning, design and construction of new buildings from the ground up, tenant improvements, strategic real estate planning, Owner's Rep, Investor's Rep and facilities assignments.

As an Associate Project Manager, you will spend the next 2+ years working towards a Project Manager Role, gaining valuable work experience. You will be working towards becoming a professional with expert knowledge of leading and managing a project team.

The role will be varied, and the actual experience gained will be dependent on the team and sector you are working in. You will join the Park Lane training program to ensure you can relate the theoretical aspects of your studies to actual work experience.

Working within a team, you will be assisting your Line Manager with various aspects of daily work. In this role you will be expected to work with a certain level of autonomy while also knowing when to discuss and ask questions to ensure the best outcome.

You will be building a solid knowledge base of your role, the firm and the industry, and how they all fit together.

The Associate Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the construction project team during the design and construction of a project.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing project schedules and managing deadlines
  • Taking minutes during project meetings and analyzing statistical data
  • Providing client updates regarding project status and following up with clients to understand their needs,
  • Managing and keeping up to date project documentation
  • Attending site meetings – depending on stage of project either design team meetings or progress meetings with the contractor and project team
  • Preparing performance and ranking reports and weekly progress updates
  • Preparing and distributing Project Billing/Invoice Protocols
  • Communicating with clients to cultivate and maintain good relationships
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of action plans to enable proper time, resource and process management
  • Overseeing variable aspects of projects and providing direct assistance to ensure timely project execution
  • Liaising with project leads and other project managers to maintain the project schedule and efficacy
  • Reviewing project implementation and gathering data on project progress
  • Coordinating with project managers and other project leads following project completion

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Construction or Real Estate Discipline preferred.
  • Genuine interest in construction and project management
  • Desire to learn
  • Excellent working knowledge of current IT systems
  • Understand the importance of client care & building relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize work efficiently
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Proactive and flexible approach to different situations
