The AP will facilitate academic tracking and coordination of university and program accreditation, lead the academic program review cycle, work with financial aid for program federal and state compliance and identification, oversee outreach and dual credit, Career Services, B.D. Owens Library, Continuing Education/Small Business Development Center (SBDC), liaison to academic facilities, and academic operations. The Associate Provost serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) for the institution's responsibilities with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) as well as responsibilities related to the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD). In addition to the functions listed below, the Associate Provost serves as a direct report to the Provost and may receive other duties as assigned as well as being designated as a point of contact for the Academic Affairs division in the absence of the Provost.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as liaison officer (ALO) for the HLC for university accreditation purposes and keep the Provost, President, and the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness informed on accreditation and data needs for this purpose. Coordinate the HLC Steering Team that meets regularly to review updates to HLC process and policy as well as serve as a review team for the evidence and responses entered on the Assurance System.Serve as liaison to MDHEWD in academic program approval and review processes. Serve as a member of the Academic Leadership Team and advise the Provost on matters relating to regional accreditation (ALO) and statewide initiatives (MDHEWD).Provide leadership support for academic tracking and coordination of all program accreditation, lead the academic program review cycle, work with financial aid for program federal and state compliance and identification, and curriculum and assessment.In conjunction with the Office of the Provost, work with Associate Provosts and academic unit leaders on the rapid development of new/changed programs promoting enrollment growth, interdisciplinary involvement, and relevance. Collaborate with the Deans in administering the academic program review process where 20% of all programs are assessed and revised annually.Work with all academic leaders to ensure learning outcomes (SLO's) are in place for all programs at all levels and are used to assess program effectiveness and to foster continuous improvement of academic programs.Provide leadership support for academic initiatives. Assist with the leadership of the division of Academic Affairs in sustaining, creating, and implementing programs to enhance student life and improve academic enrichment including but not limited to profession-based learning.Oversee and develop off-campus outreach programs, dual credit, continuing education, and the SBDC.Serve as the facilities liaison for Academic Affairs and provide academic input to facilities initiatives and keep the Provost updated on any ongoing project or concerns.Oversee Academic Operations Coordinator in developing training and recruiting/maintaining quality adjuncts. Collaborate with Academic Affairs leadership in all matters of academic recruitment, performance, interdepartmental cooperation (including interdisciplinary activities and programs), and meeting the strategic goals and objections of the institution.Work with the Provost and Deans on development of new/proposed academic policies as assigned by the provost as well as review of current policies in light of flexibility and growth.Oversee overall operations of Career Services to foster student experiences related to career-related skills growth in all academic programs including activities, internships, and unique experiences.Oversee overall operations of the university library, and its building facility, in conjunction with the library director. Provide planning and operations assistance to executive management through active participation and leadership on task forces, committees and councils.Provide effective management of resources including fiscal responsibility for assigned budgets and overall supervisory authority for the budget process in the division.Serve as the academic point for external partnerships related to workforce needs in the state and region.Oversee development of the academic calendar.Perform other duties as assigned by the Provost.REQUIREMENTS:Education: Terminal degree in an academic or higher education-related fieldExperience: Minimum of three to five years in higher education with supervision and academics experienceSkills: Leadership, innovation, communication, strategic thinkingSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
