Interprets, administers, coordinates, and directs strategic instructional activities which may include leadership supervision of faculty and instruction-related staff. Provide assistance in the planning, development, implementation, coordination of various programs and initiatives within the Provost's Office. Works closely with chairs and faculty. This position will help TSTCadvance its mission to provide high quality learning environment for students. This position will work under the general direction of the appropriate Provost in the TSTC system and serves in the absence of the Provost.Essential Functions
- Employee will demonstrate TSTC Core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students and members of the community.
- Direct and evaluate all instructional and instruction-related personnel per assignment, which may include student learning programs, instructional support, and compliance with accreditation and agency requirements.
- Make recommendations based on campus and instructional needs to statewide authorities.
- Work closely with statewide division directors and department chairs for the programs on the campus.
- Advise the appropriate Provost of relevant matters regarding campus activities.
- Plan, schedule, and cancel courses for the campus based on direction from campus authorities
- Plan and conduct meetings with the student learning faculty and staff to exchange information and coordinate campus activities.
- Familiarity with annual cycle of programs, which is driven by several main forces, including recruitment, graduation, new-resident orientation and day-to-day operations.
- Improves leadership and administrative abilities in academic units by assisting inmentoring Department Chairs, and other academic administrators and supportingendeavors that assist academic administrators in carrying out their duties andresponsibilities.
- Promotes a positive image and maintains effective relationships for the Office of theProvost by representing the Provost at various meetings, communicating with TSTCadministrators, faculty, staff, and students in matters related to undergraduate education,and leading or serving on selected campus committees and task forces.
- Assures the application of appropriate procedures by assisting with academic employeegrievances and other faculty personnel issues through investigating, gathering information,and reporting findings to the Provost.
- Areas of responsibilities include overseeing evaluations, credentialing, trainingverifications, monitor vacation/sick leave, licensure, in-training exams and processingnew/continuing/separating allocation forms.
- Maintain effective working relations with other operational areas.

Education/Experience/Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college oruniversity required; Or Associates degree and five additional years of relatedStudent Learning experience; Master's degree preferred.
- Three years of successful higher education teaching/leadership experience at a regionally accredited college or university.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of the accreditation and agency requirements for instruction-related processes include, but not limited to: library services, curricula, and faculty development.
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development and workforce education theory.
- Able to develop and implement strategic plans that improve the efficiency of and consistency of instruction-related processes.
- Requires a high degree of communication, professionalism, collegiality, initiative and independent judgment.
- Effective multi-tasker and problem solver, detail oriented.
