Responsibilities & Qualifications
Novelis - Guthrie, KY is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Reliability Leader for our facility in Guthrie, KY. The Associate Reliability Leader is responsible for improving manufacturing performance and improving equipment reliability by reducing machine downtime and unscheduled maintenance. We are looking for a collaborative team player with initiative to own and drive the reliability of the production lines and lead the team in alignment with the facility's operational excellence. A successful candidate will be self-directed and will have the ability to communicate with team members at all levels.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership to the Reliability Engineering Team members to execute cost effective preventive and predictive asset strategies to achieve best in class availability and reliability of the plant process equipment.
* Provide resources to support equipment related loss investigations to determine casual factors and provide technical recommendations and mitigation plans to prevent reoccurrence.
* Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, procurement, and other identified stakeholders to drive improved asset availability and support fit for purpose training on reliability work processes and practices.
* Support equipment related data capture for analysis and trending to establish equipment health, evaluation of risk, identifying bad actors and opportunities for improvement.
* Establish and publish Reliability Key Performance Indicators to measure and improve Reliability performance of the equipment assets and reliability related work processes.
* Assess Equipment Criticalities and developing Asset Strategies to achieve cost effective reliability, availability, and performance of the plant equipment.
* Ensure the facility's assets are operating reliably, efficiently, and compliant with all safety guidelines and government regulations.
* Engage with Capital and Project Engineering to review and recommend Design for Reliability considerations for new equipment installations and equipment upgrades.
* Develop 1-year and 3-year Reliability Tactical Plan Plans to improve equipment availability and performance.
* Support Maintenance in the development of forward-looking multi-year equipment replacement and overhaul plans.
* Identify opportunities to use reliability best practices, technology, automation, and Artificial Intelligence to promote cost effective asset care and performance.
* Support Maintenance in the review and rationalization and optimization of effective PM plans.
* Utilize communication skills to establish partnerships across to the site to achieve plant performance goals.
* Work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend duty as necessary to manage facility performance.
* Raise knowledge level of Maintenance and Reliability best practices among cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science Degree, Engineering preferred.
* Five (5) or more years of experience in Maintenance, Engineering, or Operations, aluminum industry preferred.
* Experience in developing and implementing improvement processes and projects.
* Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance and ability to facilitate investigations and develop mitigation plans to address findings.
* Experience with maintenance best practices such as shutdown planning and execution, preventive maintenance, and precision maintenance techniques.
* Experience with predictive maintenance technologies (i.e. vibration & oil analysis, thermography, ultrasound.)
* Experience leading and mentoring others with supervision of direct reports, preferred.
* Knowledge and/or experience with Process Control.
* Experience with proactive reliability tools and Root-Cause-Analysis methodology.
* Experience with MS Project.
* Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS.)
* Experience troubleshooting equipment issues and analyzing production loss and reliability data.
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Location Profile
Novelis' Guthrie facility is located in Guthrie Kentucky approximately 30 minutes from the Tennessee state line near Clarksville Tennessee and Hopkinsville Kentucky. As Novelis' newest facility Guthrie will house a heat treatment and pretreatment line that will serve the North American automotive market and employ 125 residents. In addition to hunting fishing and hiking residents enjoy the Guthrie Transportation Museum which is the hub of the city's renewal efforts. The Guthrie team enjoys partnerships with Hopkinsville Community College Todd County High School Guthrie Fire Department and several local Rotary Clubs.
